Access to audit log activities within Atlassian Administration is directly linked to your subscription plan and the depth of information available to you.

Type of audit log activities

Organization admin log

These capture all configuration changes and administrative actions performed at the organization level. These comprehensive logs provide a detailed record of security-relevant activities that affect your Atlassian organization. Access to organization admin logs depends on your subscription plan. For example, Encryption is only with the Cloud Enterprise plan, so logs related to encryption can be accessed only by subscribers of this plan.

Role and permissions: These activities can only be executed by users with organization admin privileges who have exclusive authority to manage global settings, including user provisioning, group management, security policies, and organization-wide configurations.

Atlassian app admin log

These capture administrative actions specific to individual Atlassian apps. These track configuration changes, permission adjustments, and administrative decisions made within a particular Atlassian app.

Role and permissions: These activities are restricted to users with app admin status for the specific Atlassian app. For comprehensive details about product-specific activities and permissions, refer to the respective Atlassian app documentation.

Atlassian app user log

These capture standard user activities conducted within Atlassian apps. These logs track day-to-day user interactions with content, workflows, and collaboration features.

Role and permissions: These activities don't require special administrative privileges and can be performed by any authorized user with appropriate access to the application.
